How Did You Get/pronounce Your Screen Name
Decorating By Melvira Updated 7 Jul 2009 , 6:30am by JulyMama
Mine is pronounced just like it looks.
As far as the meaning, our family uses the term "bear" as an endearing nickname for one another (i.e. "Hey there Bear! How are ya today?"). Anyway, I have always loved baking, and my grandma & mom would say, "There's that Baker Bear at it again in the kitchen!" So the name kind of stuck.
My mom & I have always said that if we ever opened up a bakery it should be called "Baker Bear".
So my screen name was really a no-brainer.
Mine is Pama2d... pronounced "pamatude". It was started by my brother who states that I have an "attitude" problem (which, of course, I disagree with) and used to call me Tude... until one day when my nephew, who was fairly young at the time, said something in reference to me and called me Auntie Pamatude... hence the Pama2d!
OK so nothing fun behind my name. I just combined my kids names.
Dani for my daughter Danielle
Jus for my son Justin
It sounds like its spelled way words. Only with a z because I love to play with words. I consider myself an unplublished author. Well, unless you count the one poem I have on poetry .com I have some childrens stories I've written, three novels in progress. And some odds and ends of other stuff. I know someone who is published and he has been giving me pointers on getting my stuff done (He says its good and I should.) I've got lots of excuses why they aren't published. Mostly fear of rejection. I hope to one day get them all published. I love cake decorating and this was the first and only cake site I'd been on and the first time I'd ever belonged to a group with a forum before. Haven't had the internet long. I wanted something to describe myself. Before I joined here I entertained ideas about a cake business and wanted to forget the writing but, after seeing what all is invoved with becoming "legal" and fighting arthritis in my hands I decided to keep writing. Sorry so long. I guess I need an editor. lol
waywordz...how about a book with a cake decorating theme? I've seen books with true stories about medical mysteries, stupid criminals, Darwin awards, etc. How about some of the stupid and astounding stories making the rounds about customers wanting to order a cake? Like indydebi saying some lady wouldn't eat the cake because the lady "just knew" the cake was more than 4 hours old. Or the 5 teenage girls who all got sick when they tried eating enough cake for 80 people, and the mother who ordered the cake wanted her money back? Or the guy who went to pick up the wedding cake...on his motorcycle. Lots of short stories to make every cake decorator laugh! Or cry.
CarolAnn; DH + I celebrated our 38th Anni. this year. And how about Wooden Cakes for your shop? You could hand out wooden nickels to advertise your business?
I read from the back forward so, I just saw your posting. I passed 30 a long time ago. lol
Ok. I reread this and I meant "Wood and Cakes" but, in my haste I wrote wooden because I was thinking about the nickles you could use for advertisment, and when I had the idea it sounded good in my head. But, I was thinking more of the wood side. The coins could say "You can get wooden nickles here but, we only have the most wonderful soft cakes."
I don't care how old I get, it's better than the alternative. Except for the " " thing. I understand the "preview" button better now.
Gemini RJ I have had several ideas for us as a group to do and no clue as to how to put it together. 1) Hints/tips. 2) Cakewar stories 3) How NOT to make a cake and more but, I also haven't checked yet to see if its been done somewhere yet. One of the best murder mysteries I read was where the writer also had recipes in the story. I can't remember the title right now, but, that was so cool! I would never do anything without you guys knowing first. I'm an honest person. You also have to be careful when writing true stories. Protecting the innocent, you know. (lol, I heard a lot of those stories.)
Well, mine is all my uncles fault LMAO.
I have red hair so every since I was a baby I have been called "red" then when I started dating my dh his last name is Hare so my uncle looked at me and said SO I guess you'll be 'redhare' LMAO I thought it was funny and it stuck I use it on almost everything.
The age thing - I will be 28 next month dh will be 30 in April and we have 2 kiddos dd who is 4 and ds is 3. Dh and I have been together for 11 years and married for 7.
Ok I have seriously got to get up I just read all 19 pages in one sitting!
My name I think is easy but I might be wrong...
My daughter's name is Shyanne and I am her mommy lol plain and simple ...now I might have to change it if I have another child but that hasn't happened yet so I am okay right now.
Mine is from my kids. My first son, instead of momma or mommy, would call me Monna. Sounds like Momma but with an N. And it just kinda stuck so much so that I am Aunt Monna to my nieces and nephews. Even to my very close friends who know the story line and who have stuck with me that long, As for the #'s its a very special date to me that stands for freedom.
Varika was a character I made up when I was, oh, sixteen or so, for some story or another I was writing. She was Robin Goodfellow's fiancee, because she couldn't pin him down for the wedding. And it's almost never taken anywhere I go, and it sounds nice, so I kept it.
One day my husband said he had no problems, so I told him that it was because he had good kids and a GR8YF, great wife.
Mine is boring. Simply abbreviated forms of my first and last name. Yes, even my last name! It has 12 letters. No joke! I was assigned this ID at grad school and it just sort of stuck.
Well mine is pretty straight foward. I got the name when i was working as an intern at a hotel some years back and it was given to me by one of the worst guests the hotel ever had. He complained about EVERYTHING!!
Anyway to cut to the chase, he thought i told him my name was caramel when i told him it was katrina and since then caramelchef stuck with me and everyone else
I like it tho

How nice to see this thread revived. I neverr did see it before; I just finished reading all 20 pgs - took me 1/2 the day
Some very interesting information.
Of course mine is very easy to pronounce and understand. DH came up w/the spelling.
As for 'personal info'.......I seem to be the oldest...
pushing 68 later this yr; Married 48 yrs; 2 DDs and 2 GSs; one 4 legged GD.
I retired from decorating about 2 1/2 yrs ago due to needing to care for my DH. We travel a lot but have a home in northern IN. We are currently in central CA & will be heading to KY around Oct for a couple of months.
I love helping out on this site....encouraging new decorators, sharing what I learned in my 25+ yrs of decorating.
My name is kind of an inside joke back from my freshman year of high school. My friends and I were all in the same Latin class and when we started studying Roman mythology we decided to give ourselves "Goddess" names. We were nerds, what can I say? Amy = Amia. My friend Nicolle was Nicola (rhymes with Ricola). Nicolle and I still use these nicknames. The 1024 is my birthday -- Oct. 24.
Narie is very simple. When my godson was a toddler, he did the best he could with my name- which is Anna Marie- and it came out --Na --rie.
Okay, I've now sat here reading this thread WAY too long, when I should have been in the kitchen!!! This is great!!
My name is Launa...it doesn't get more exciting than that! My dad heard the name when the Army sent him to Hawaii and he came back and here I was 9 months later! I have no idea what the name means....not sure I want to know!!
Dear Hubby is a pastor and we've been married 23 years. I'm 43 and he's 49. We have six kids ages 20 - 6. Three boys and three girls! Been homeschooling for 16 years now, just have 4 to teach this year as the two oldest have graduated.
Started decorating 2 years ago and am completely ADDICTED!! We've all gained a few extra pounds because of it, too!!
Looks like we've got some catching up to do since I read that someone had 7 and another had 8 kids....sorry, but I have no brain cells left to remember your names!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Launa
mine is a cominbation of my name and occupation.
S is the first letter in my first name Susan
rod is for my last name rodriguez
I've been called S-Rod for years...even before Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) was a household name. My hubby is D-Rod and my daughter is lil' S-Rod.
and the 911 comes from working for a 9-1-1 center.
Cake Decorating is my stress relief.

I posted way back there somewhere but have to step in here and claim my honors as the oldest here on CC (as far as I know) since I'll be 72 in a couple of weeks.
My name is self-explanatory, and if I had been able to maintain a business, its name was to be Jan-Ices Cakes, but I have arthritis and am not able to bake/decorate very much now! I do love CC though!
I have three children, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
This is definitely a fun thread, glad somebody picked it up again! Janice
Mine is simple...I bake alot and my children are always saying "this is so yummy mummy!" And my screen name was born! ..although my dh likes to call me a yummy mummy!
I worked at a bank with someone that had the same initials as mine - JMO - and another employee that had the initials JO. Because we would initial documents and transactions that we approved, I started using my first initial of my first name and the first two letters of my last name - JO'C - to avoid confusion. After awhile I dropped the apostrophe and became JOC.
When my oldest son was in high school, he ran on the track and cross country teams. He won a lot of medals and trophies, so I became JOCMOM1 (#1 jock's mom) when we set up our screen names online.
When I first needed an email name I wanted Linneylou, my name is Lynn and my brothers call me Linneylou as a nickname, but it was already taken. I even added a number after it and all the way through linneylou29 was taken. That was several years ago so its probably up to 999 by now. Any way I wanted an original name and that's really hard. But thanks to my MIL I got it. She made up words to describe things and one of the words she made up was peajib, to describe something small. When my husband gave me a teacup chichuachua for Christmas 2002 she only weighed 8 ounces at 6 weeks, and I said "she's just a little peajib"', that stuck and it's her name, but we call her Jibbies most of the time.
That's her in my Avatar.
Jibbies
Mine's pretty basic too.
That's my girl Rebel in my avatar pic. Her full registered name is Nobles Tejas Rebel Beauty. So we're TejasRebel.
Kim
most people think I have misspelled my screen name. it's the first 2 letters of my oldest childs name, the middle letters of my middle childs name and the last letters of my last childs name. I've used it for 13 years for EVERYTHING!
Hi, Tejasrebel, I'm near Kelly and Trinity Mills Rd. (not too far by DFW standards, I guess.)
My DB has a beautiful shepherd named Shadow (not sure what his whole name is.) From your avatar photo I would say Shadow is a considerably darker coloring.
Good to meet another Carrolltonian! Janice
