hello! a gal named dawn (or denise?) sent this to me a while ago from the wilton. I think she said her and a friend made it, or something like that. anyway she sent it to me like 6 months ago...maybe more? anyway i asked her if it was alright if i could share it with others and she said yes. i wish i could remember her website for the life of me. if i think of it i will make sure and post it here so everyone can tell her thanks.
This excel file works in MS Excel 2003 (and probably XP, and 2000)
also i wanted to add that the gal made most of the excel funtions on her own, she must be crazy! the file is pretty complex so she obviously did a LOT! i use ms office 2003 and have no problems opening it
THANK YOU!
This is so awesome! If you do find her website please post! Please forward my thanks because I wish I could take credit for that spreadsheet...that's for sure. A lot of thought went into to that one knowing since I work a lot with excel myself.
I can't get it to download I have word pad and works xp
MS Works does not include the Excel program needed to open that document.
You are a life saver I was like crazy looking for this you are a saint thanks so much
This is absolutely awesome! What a work of art.
Has anyone scanned it for viruses? I don't want to save it on my PC until I'm sure it's clean.
Diana
After it was originally uploaded we did a full gamut of virus scans, and assure any one that downloads directly from the above link that it will be virus free.
aww I unfortunately don't have a program that will open the file either I have MS Works, but not MS Office or Excel
I am not computer savy. Please help. In the cake pricing matrix under the calculate price cost per slice has a function of#DIV/O. This is an error in the fomula. How can I correct this and when does the hourly wage get added in to the total cost?
I have been using this matrix for a year, but there is one problem. The serving per pan have changed, so you will need to update that. Don't be afraid to customize it either. I have updated and added things to mine. It's great for pricing weddings.

That cell should read "=C10/matrixB!72". This formula is reading from 2 places 1. C10 is the total for that page... You need to make sure all of the formulas in cells C2-C9 are correct. 2. Matris is the first sheet in the spreadsheet and B72 is the cell it's reading (which happens to be the number of servings).
The hourly wage is calculated in cell C8 (time) and is inclued in the total line.
Let me now if you need more help. I work with spreadsheets alot.
I can't download the attachment. I get a message that the page does'nt exist. Help.
Same thing happened to me.... not sure whats wrong...
The same thing happened to me - I am so computer illiterate. I'll have my husband figure it out when he gets home tonight. Thanks for posting this!
There was a problem with the download script, which should now be fixed.
Go ahead and give it another try
It worked beatifully! Thanks Jackie.
This is an awesome program...Kudos to the creator!
I successfully downloaded the Cake Matrix. But, I have a question. I usually make a 9x13x3 or 12x18x3 sheet cakes. Can I add those sizes to the Cake Matrix and it will calculate without any problems?
Thanks,
Grandma Sweetie Pie

To answer your question: There is nothing wrong with that formula. Leave it alone. This will happen with a spreadsheet that is empty of data with some formulas, because you can't divide by zero. Start entering some cake info on the first page and then go look at it.

Before I can help you with your question, let me ask you one. What do you mean by 9x13x3 or 12x18x3 sheet cakes, do you have 3" cake pans or do you make 3 layers?
I am an assistant professor at a private university and one of the classes I assist with is Excel. I can try to help anybody with their questions on this spreadsheet, add things to it etc.
This is an excellent spreadsheet. She has taken alot of time putting this together. It was not just an evening or two. I have a spreadsheet that has 34 pages that has taken me 8 years to develop. (it is not anything to do with cakes however) I have not had time, since I started decorating cakes again to create a spreadsheet. I had started working on one though, but I will start using this one and developing it for my own needs as I go.
I would like to know who did this as well, I want to tell her job well done and thanks for sharing.
Thanks MarinersFan!!!!!
I can't seem to get the file to open. I have ms office but still won't open the file.
