Hi friends!
Does anyone know of any kitchen rentals in Houston, TX? I want to one day open my own bakery, but financially can't do it right now. I'm trying to make some extra money and have been supplementing our income by baking cakes, but I'd like to be legit.
I've looked EVERYWHERE but can't find out where you would even rent a kitchen.
Its amazing, I called Harris County Health Dept. they said to get a seperate kitchen, or a mobile unit even a mobile cart. I see those things everywhere and some are absolutely FILTHY!
Here I am, my kitchen is immaculate, and I can't sell cakes. Go figure!

look into using a church kitchen, banquet hall, coffee shop or bakery in the off hours or even a VFW kitchen. I have been using my church's kitchen. It's a great way to test the waters since in the beginning it moves pretty slowly.

Community centers too, might have a space. Sorry to bump here a bit but mkolmar when you rent out your church kitchen do you do your entire cake in one shot or do they let you store things? I like to do wedding cakes and can't always complete them in one session.
