Hello all...
I am going to make my sister an arrangement of decorated B-day cookies this week & mail them to her. I am using a pretty sturdy sugar cookie recipe & the royal icing for sugar cookies recipe. I am going to wait 36-48 hrs after decoarting them to package to be sure they are dry. So I am wondering how should package & send them to try to avoid any breaking? I have heard to maybe use press n' seal around each one, but can anyone share ways they have done this? I am also wondering if I should overnight them or use 2nd day? I am in Iowa & she is in Washington State. Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated... thanks!

I've shipped 30 baby shower cookies and none broke (I had included 5 extras just in case). The way I did it was to wrap each cookie individually in cellophane bags with ribbons, then I laid three across in a box, with bubble wrap above, then tissue above that, then another layer of cookies, bubble wrap and tissue etc., until I had them all in the box, it worked, she said none broke! Also, at UPS they gave me the box, helped me package and then labeled the box as breakable items!

Great.... sounds like layering w/ bubblewrap is the way to go. Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I sent decorated cookies all the way to Iraq for my nephew and his buddies for Valentines day. I wrapped them in saran wrap {not tight} and then bubble wrap. I then pop air popcorn and use it like the peanuts. The popcorn collects all of the moisture and keeps the cookies fresh. My nephew said that there were not any broken ones and they still tasted great.
