The week I was suppose to be working on this 4 tier rolled fondant cake, I started having heart problems. It was skipping beats. This little heart issue at the ripe ol age of 32 consumed me and I totally SPACED this 4 tier wedding cake. (The bottom tier was a fake cake). First let me say my doctor said this little heart issue of mine is totally normal for a YOUNG woman my age to experience. Thank God for that one! Anyway, back to the story...

I got a call from the wedding coordinator wanted to know what my ETA was. My heart stoped beating at that point lol. I had no cake. It was 5pm which was my drop off time and the location was 1 hour away. I screamed to my DH and he rushed to the grocery store (2 stores total) and we cleaned them out of pre made cakes. We scraped the fall colored frostings off the cakes, cut rounds out of them, frosted them with our frosting, and (yuck) had to buy boxes of wilton rolled fondant. I have never made a cake so fast in my life. We had a 4 tier wedding cake delivered to the wedding site in 3 1/2 hours from the time I got the call. I was trying to put some final details on the cake at the reception, but the photographer had his flash aimed in my direction, and I litterally could not see. I finished, and hid in the corner while she came over to cut the cake and said "well, at least it's beautiful!". I couldn't wait to get out of the room.

That was really the worst day of my life and I hope no one will have to go through that one!!!

Hope it made you laugh at least, or gives you hope for the little hicups that happen in our cake lives!

Dana
