My other little mixer, was one of those $30 ones, and it was about to explode.
What a difference!

yea! For all of us!
My little putt putt was on the brink of explosion! It would shake, get real hot, then when the smoking started, I knew it was time..
But wow! I made a batch of cookies, that usually I have to finish kneading it by hand, but this mixer just mixed it like nothing, plus no noise!
Cakegirl, I got a really good deal on it. and I HATE spending that type of money, but it was so worth it!
I went to Macys, it was regular $400, then they marked it to $300, but they had a $25 coupon, then an instant $20 rebate. Plus it was charged to my Macys card so I can pay it off. And I love the pink one, because they donate $50 of that to breast cancer.
You'll get one, it took me awhile, but I finally got one! I'll wish with you! And that is so sweet NVP! We will all get there! I've got a 2-3 year plan in mind to eventually open a bakery, just gotta keep focused.

Your lucky that yours doesn't make a sound. I have the KA Pro and it makes a screetchy sound everytime it's turned on! icon_mad.gif

I totally understand your excitement! I have been using a Wal-Mart special hand mixer for ever! This Year my parents, sister and brother in law bought me my first Kitchen-Aid! My sister gave it to me early so I could use it! I am in heaven.

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas and hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

cakegirl,
it's completely different when you are baking with one. I make that No Fail Sugar recipe in there, and it's mixed in about 3 minutes, compared to about 10 before. And it's made my life so much easier.
Trust me, I WINCED at the price, but my husband was the one who said you just need to get one and it'll pay itself off. And sure enough, last Thursday, I got an order for 24 dozen cookies, made $275 dollars, and I've paid it off!
You just need to watch the sales, Macys sent me that $25 coupon in one of the circulars, and if you go online to Macys.com, look at the KA's and online is where they show the rebates on them when they are offering them, plus sometimes online, you get free attachments or bonus money off.

I got a red artisan also. My husband gave it to me early because I was making 5 dozen cookies for a Santa thing for underprivileged children whose parents come to the food pantry my parents volunteer at and I had 2 coconut cakes and 2 butter pecan cakes to make for Christmas parties. It is my first KA and I don't know how I lived without it! Hope you all enjoy yours as much as I do mine. And hope you all had a Merry Xmas!

Jwong...
My hubby was browsing on Amazon one day and saw the refurbished ones. He knew I wanted one, but would never buy it because of the cost. e knew it was a super deal, so he bought it for me just because.

I has worked perfect! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

don't worry Starchaser, you'll get one, I've been wanting one for YEARS, I had my little mixer from Target, which lasted me for 5 years, shockingly enough. Just watch for the sales on them.
I love mine! Its the Artisan, I have not seen the Pro, they do not have those at Macys, just the Artisans, is that their latest?
It has made my life so much easier, I can now breathe easier! I seriously don't know how I've been doing it, compared to this!
And I had no idea about what it can do with all the attachments! Even become an ice cream maker! Its the gift that keeps on giving! icon_biggrin.gif

Congrats to all you new KA owners, and Merry Christmas!! I bought myself an early christmas present and found a steal on my KA 5qt Pro on amazon.com ... 250 no tax or shipping! icon_smile.gif Woo! It's cobalt blue, and while I'm doing dishes I find myself continually wiping it down, making sure there's not a speck of dust on it. I suspect that will pass, hehe. My man was going to get it for me for christmas, but I knew he wouldn't find as good of a deal. icon_smile.gif Anyway, I love it!

Oh, and Happy New Year too!

not sure what color. i'll probably end up with stainless steel 'cause that's what my appliances are right now. but, since I won't have it out all the time amybe I should go with something a little more FUN!
