I am going to be making the 3-D Pooh cake on top of a 8" round....I was wondering if anyone knew the number of servings the 3-D Pooh cake serves. I need to know for charging reasons. It says that I need a heat conducting core and 3 clips. What are those exactly? This is the link to the pan... http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CPWM013002
Thanks for your help! Brandy
**Any tips on making this cake is much appreciated too! BS
Ok, I re-read it and it says it comes with the heating core and clips....but, it says it takes 6 cups of "pound" cake batter....meaning Pound cake? I can't use my regular Duncan Hines Super Moist cake batter? The lady who is ordering it says she is "picky on texture of stuff" and needs a sample of the cake before hand. Ugh! Anyway...thanks for your help!
this is my beginner's guess, but...it says it takes 6 cups of batter, and i've read that regular cake mixes make 5 cups, so maybe you can use that as a reference.
the other thing, it says that the heating core and clips are included, so did you get them with the pan? or did you not get the pan yet?
I haven't got the pan yet...the lady just contacted me last night about getting a cake...I had sent her a ton of different cake ideas via e-mail and this is what she decided she wants. No biggy...just am trying to figure out a serving size. Thanks!
i have heard you need to use a texture like pound cake or the shape will fall apart...you say you are doing it on top of a round, maybe you can make one that your client can eat and the pooh she just won't eat but others can eat?
We'll see...she seems kind of picky. When I e-mailed her last night I told her the type of batter I always use and that I'd be happy to make a test cake for her to try...she brought it up again in this mornings e-mail....I guess she is really picky, otherwise she wouldn't have brought it up again! LOL
I have this pan but have not used it yet. I have used the 3d Garfield pan and used a cake mix with pudding already in it. It worked fine, no problems with it falling apart any. The directions say you can use a pound cake or a cake with pudding in it. Since it takes 6 cups of batter, my guess it that it would have 15 or 18 servings. I can't find that info on the box or my instructions. I am probably just missing it.
Hope that helps.
I have the 3d pooh pan. I have only used it once, but I definitely suggest using a "firm" textured cake. If she does not want a pound cake, then you may try to use the "durable cake for 3d and Wedding cakes" recipe located on this site.
