Hey! I have a question. Today's wedding will be the first time I've used the 13 3/4" Roman Pillars & the 18" plates. I'm very nervous about it!! The wedding cake is 8", 12", 16". It is VERY heavy, I can't pick it up it's so heavy. The wedding isn't till 2pm. I'm going to the church to set up everything around 11:30 am. My question is... Can I put the cake on top of the pillars for that long (2 1/2 hours)???????? I am very worried about doing that so early. I thought I would just show the groom how to put the cake on top & he & a friend could make sure the cake got on the plate. Would that be a good idea? Thanks for the help!!! thumbs_up.gif

tcturtleshell, I don't have an answer for you and I hope someone will, because I am in the same boat as you. I have a wedding cake to setup tomorrow and this is only my second wedding cake and I am a nervous wreck. I know the way it is suppose to be stacked but I don't know if I have enough confidence in me to do it. The lady wants it setup at 12:00 and the cake won't be served until 2:00. I wish us both good luckicon_smile.gif

Hello Tina,
How did it go? I wouldn't have seen a problem with the groom setting it up there for you because in last minutes of set up the table could get bumped but. most likely would have been fine. Let us know!!! and Good Luck to you and Iris. icon_lol.gif

The wedding cake turned out wonderful!!!!! I didn't get to the church until Noon. My daughter had a end of the summer sleep over. Anyway I was carrying girls home. Once I got finished with the last details of the cake I got 2 guys to put the cake on top of the pillars. NO PROBLEMS at all!!!!!! Thank goodness!!!!! Those pillars can handle more weight then I thought they could! The whole set up was beautiful!! I will post a pic asap.

Iri, if you have a certain question PM me. I will be happy to help you out~
