I have just purchased an airbrush system, small for the hobbiest.
I am concerned about overspray and am wondering where others do their spraying.
I do not have a spray booth and really do not want to buy one at this point.
Can anyone give me some pointers on this?
Directions for making a booth for cake decorating? Is it necessary?
Thanks everyone!!
A guard of some sort is necessary. I got a very large cardboard box from the box store. I put the cake on a turntable inside the box.
Just so you know, airbrushes provide what the decorators call 'blowing blue" The mist WILL get into your nose and blow out on a kleenex. Wierd the first time it happens. fortunately, food color is harmless.
JoAnnB,
Thank you for your response. I will stop by the box co. on my way home!
Is it weird that I am kind of excited to try the gun and experience "Blowing Blue."
Ha HA
Thanks and your cakes are great!

I wish I'd heard this BEFORE I tried my airbrush for the first time! I sneezed into a tissue and it was BLACK! Really freaked me out till I realized what it was.
I'm sure it would definitely help to wear a mask while spraying. It's what I'm planning to start anyway, because last time I sprayed clear vanilla through my airbrush, I nearly asphixiated myself from the alcohol fumes.
