I ran across this site which is very similar to CC and took the tour and tried to sign up only to find that it was full. They put me on a waiting list and there's actually a monthly fee of $10. It seems just like CC but with a fee. I think they offer more how-to videos, but I think they charge for those in addition to the monthly.

Has anyone from CC signed up there?

Ashley

It cost $19.95 a month. Most of this information is already available in books and on line. It just takes a bit of effort find it.

To answer Heath's question, "Heck no!"

In the words of the Wizard of Oz, "Not no way, not no how!"

CC is #1, and always will be, thanks to Heath, Jackie, and all of the great members here that are so willing to share their knowledge and talent with the rest of us! thumbs_up.gif

A while back a CCer posted a thread about it and quite a few others went to check it out only to come to the conclusion that "They have GOT to be kidding!!!!"

I believe that anything that is "offered" there, with a monthly fee can be attained either like JoAnnB stated "Most of this information is already available in books and on line. It just takes a bit of effort find it." or by asking the CC community and surely someone will come to the rescue....FREEEEEEEEEE!

It's like a great recipe... you may try another one, but you always go back to the tried and true... and that would be CC.. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Hey ya,

Yummyarts is also the same as cakes and cookies as cakesmadeeasy.com and cookiemadeeasy.com. I thought and also by the same artist Sam and Michael. I also thought that Sam may be a member of CC.

I get emails from them (which is cool but I join the mailing list before I found CC) and they have great hints but as someone also said, everything is also on CC and as Heath said, nothing is as good as CC. I can't afford yummy arts and appreciate CC sooooo much.

HTH a little

I kinda drew the conculsion that it's completely hokie too. I can see why they would try to replicate CC but the whole fee and everything. I don't know...it definitely can't hold a candle to CC! Just was curious as to what everyone else thought.

My mom purchased their videos a long time ago by Sam, so she gets their emails and all. She recently kept talking about this new cake decor. site and how you had to sign up and pay a monthly fee. So i told her to send me the link and it was yummyart. I went in and took a look, all i can say is you have got to be kidding me, a monthly fee to see the video's that she had already purchased a few years ago, a very small forum and i do mean small. And a bunch of coming soon areas.... I told my mom it was a rip off that there was more info on CC just on the home page!!! Mom says they say that they have researched for a very long time to do this new site. they have a search engine and i typed in decorated cakes and came up with 4 links that could be found by anyone. So keep your money and hang out here on CC if you truly are interested in learning about cake decorating because this is TRULY the best cake decorating site that is avail on the internet!!!!

It is now $27.00 per month and you have to pay for videos on top of that.  Also the videos are not as professional as they are on Craftsy.  With Craftsy you only pay for videos, no membership fees, and they always have a sale of some sort so the videos are cheaper than Yummy Arts.  Most of what they have you can find online.  Also there are other sites that have a low monthly fee and all the videos are free, like Paul Bradford's site.  Way too expensive for what you get.

I bought videos from them but never joined. However I think Craftsy Classes are better and when on sale is not expensive.
