Okay...so here is another observation I have noticed, and need help on.
For some reason here lately I have noticed that my icing on the NFSC is getting blotchy when it dries...like it is soaking up the butter from the cookies. I was told once before it could be because the icing is too thin...not the case this time. If the cookies sit long enough...then the whole cookie will look even, but for example, the cookies I icin' last night are dry this morning, but look really blotchy. I am guessing by the time I get home tonight, they will be fine.

Another observation...I don't notice on all of them...today I noticed mainly with my red and blue things.

Any clues? I am baffled!

I used to get blotchy icing when I used Toba's and the decorated cookie got cold. I haven't had a problem with this since adding brite white food coloring to the icing when I mix it up.

I don't know why they are blotchy. When mine have been blotchy it was because the icing was too thin or I didn't mix it good enough.

Once the icing is mixed, but before adding any other food color, I add about 5 drops of the white color for every cup of powdered sugar that I used. HTH.
