Any chance cc would start carrying luster dust? I'd like to shop from cc whenever possible, but I would like to see some more stuff in the store.

Will we carry luster dust? - yes and very soon...

As for more things in the store, well unfortunately that is a function of space. We are a small operation, the store was opened to pay for the website, and at this point we don't have alot of storage space, so for us to get more storage space, we need to sell ALOT more product to increase our overhead.

anyway... look forward to seeing dusts at CC very soon..

Heath I think you would have members standing in line to buy products if you carried really good gumpaste equipment. Sorry if I offend any Wilton people here but their products are just not good quality. I would love it if I could buy these items in one location, preferably Cake Central
Gumpaste Ridged Cel Boards
Gumpaste rolling pins in assorted lengths
Gumpaste Foam cel boards
Good quality metal ball tools in assorted sizes
Good quality petal and luster dusts (almost any brand other than Wilton)
Tylose powder
Gum Tragacanth
Gum Arabic
Fondx rolled fondant
Pettinice fondant
Satin Ice fondant in colors
And a few basic quality metal or plastic Gumpaste flower cutters and veiners.

And I am sure the villagers will come after me with torches for suggesting this. But if you charged a minimal membership fee for the forum such as $10.00 per year. You have enough members here to be able to expand your inventory. And for those who think that a paying cake forum is out of the question, think about this. You would spend that much or more for one good cake magazine, one movie without the popcorn, or a burger. And you get a whole lot more from CC than any of those mentioned.

Well just my opinion but although $10 does not sound like much for a year membership in a lot of cases it can be a burden. I am handicapped and on a very low fixed income and my computer is basically my entertainment in the winter months when it is hard for me to get out. And since I cannot afford to go to movies and buy magazines nor get around easily to get these things I joined this forum so that I can easily communicate with other that enjoy the same interests as myself. I love this site and would hate to not be able to talk with all the lovely people here. icon_cry.gif what extra money I do have I use to buy my baking supplies as well as my quilting supplies.

I'd have to agree even though it's a small amount of say the $10.~ when you are a low income family, one income family, raising a child or children $10.~ is a pair of shoes for a growing child or an outfit for that school program they so despretly need to attend.... $10.~ isn't very easy to part with for something that isn't a MUST have.... although I love everyone here at CC and love coming here and love looking at the pics and sharing my pics and learning new things and helping those I can, I just wouldn't be able to do it if we had to pay.....

Please don't make that an option guys icon_cry.gif

Yes. . .more fondant and gumpaste supplies, PLEASE. icon_biggrin.gif

Most other things here people have readily available and (don't kill me!) usually it's less expensive with the coupon that the retailers give out frequently. That's why I don't buy from CC- I have everything I need locally.

Hope my post was informative and not arrogant-sounding.

No Nglez it wasn't arrogant sounding. I too can get alot from my local retailers but some things I can't get from local places, so I buy offline. I have found a few things are a little bit cheaper, including shipping charges here at CC. I've found that even if the shipping charges are maybe a few bucks more by purchasing from CC it gets here ALOT quicker then from say Wilton's website. I placed two orders, 1 with CC and 1 with Wilton on the same exact day only 5 minutes apart from each other using PayPal for CC and Visa Credit Card for Wilton, both instant payments, the Wilton package took 2 weeks longer then the CC package did to arrive. I ordered more from CC then I did Wilton, so I figured Wilton would've gotten here quicker but it didn't. I find that because they are bigger, have a bigger warehouse, and more customers then they can really handle at some times. CC is a small quaint shop, and is a small quaint building/warehouse/storage center so they can get their hands on the products we need quick and ship them quickly. I continue to shop with CC, placing 2 orders so far, and have only placed that 1 with Wilton because of the shipping time on it. Generally when I order something online I want it within a reasonable amount of time, 2 weeks for a roll of silver fanci foil that was instock at time of purchase isn't a reasonable amount of time. Anyway I love CC and I love Shop CC even though Heath and Jackie can't carry too many extra things that some want, but there are other places to get those things online that are as trustworthy as CC is icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the continued feedback everyone.

Just to follow up on a main point brought up, we won't ever be charging a membership fee. We started the store so that we wouldn't have to charge for membership, but needed a way to pay for the growing hardware infastructure it takes to keep CC up and running.

The store will gradually grow, but we have to be careful. Everything in our store currently are things that the community told us they would buy. Something things sell well, and other things don't, despite the indicated interest. So we have to be very careful about how we add new products.

We strive to give great service and pricing on the products we do carry.

One thing to remember.. yes sometimes you can find something on sale locally, and that is great, but remember that each purchase on CC helps keep this site running and free. So sometimes that extra buck is worth it, for the impact it has here.

thanks to everyone who cares enough to make suggestions for what they would like to see in the store.. it is most definitely taken into consideration when we are ordering inventory. thumbs_up.gif

I have never purchased from CC! Sorry!!!!! icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif I have perused the store before and I would be inclined to purchase just about everything I need if products had another name on them besides Wilton!

I do understand however that I need to contribute to the site in a way that will help expand the product line! Soooooooo with that said, after I get the Xmas $$ that my grandmother-in-law gives us every year I think I'll just go shopping right here for the things that I need!

I don't know if it work on CC, but on the candle and soap boards I belong to there are often pre-buy sales.

The pre-buy sale is announced and runs for a specified amount of time (never more than a month), orders are submitted pre-paid and go out as soon as the shipment is received and boxed by the seller.

Usually, the pre-buys are very limited in nature, say luster dust one month or Lorann oils the next, but they are special value price for that pre-buy/

If volume isn't sufficient to order all the items in all the colors, flavors, etc. those items aren't ordered - only the items that meet the pre-buy volume requirements.

Just something to think about icon_smile.gif

P.S.

Two items I would love to buy from CC are metric measuring spoons and cups so I can accurately make that AU/NZ mud cake.

Did you know that there are four teaspoons in the NZ TABLESPOON?

I love being able to get my Americolor food colors here. As a matter of fact, I think I may need some more. I'll have to look. I will be extremely happy once CC starts selling Luster Dust. I have to drive a long way to buy them at the store and parking is hoirrific.
I love finding the hard to find items icon_smile.gif

I just love the CC store. Where I live I can't find the things I want at the store. The lady always have to order it, and sometimes I have to wait a few weeks. But here if I order it takes around one week and customer service is so great!!!!!! Besides, I get things for half the price I pay over here. Luster dusts, I'll buy them!!! And browsing the site the other I found Satinice, I didn't know they had it!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

I love CC!!!!
