Boxed brownies have been on sale the last month at our local grocery store and so I've stocked up (my kids love them!). I'm wondering if anyone has any great topping ideas to make them a little more special than just "boxed brownies"? I have melted marshmellows and Hershey's candy bars together on them and I've also grated Andies mints on them but if anyone has any other ideas I would love to hear them.

Thanks.

Do your kids like cheesecake? Cheesecake topped brownies are really good!! Also, adding Reeses peanut butter cups to the mixture is great also if they like peanut butter. I also add chocolate syrup to make them extra gooey!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

You could sprinkle reese pb chips on top of them, and then do some mini marshmellows on top.

Sprinkle some coconut, chocolate chips, pecans on top, and then drizzle some caramel on top.

You might even boost the nutritional value by creating a "science experiment"...

Take a can of black beans (don't drain them), puree the black beans in a blender, then add the puree mixture to the dry brownie mix...nothing else - and bake as usual, tastewise you won't even KNOW the difference icon_biggrin.gif

Bake them in a cupcake pan, with a Reese's mini cup (paper removed, of course) for 18-20 minutes. One box of mix should yield 22-24 cupcakes.

I put chocolate chips in mine, and then make them into cupcakes as well, and then I will top them with a cream cheese frosting, but I like to pupe flowers on them, or just decorate them like normal cupcakes, however you like pretty much. My kids also LOVE brownies, when they are on sale we stock up too. Good luck!!! Sincerely, Veronica

if you have a flan pan, I make a big brownie in it. I let that cool then top it with marshmallow fluff. I pop that under the broiler for a few minutes to toast. Then I sprinkle graham cracker criumbs and drizzle chocolate syrup over that. Kind of like a giant s'more. icon_smile.gif

Seems to be a hit every time I take it someplace.

My favorite is to chop up a Snickers bar and sprinkle it on top before baking. YUM!

Symphony Bars are really good! Mix the brownies like you normally would then spread half of it in the pan (I line with foil so that I can pull them out easily) On top of the batter lay three 6oz. symphony bars (they have caramel or almond/toffee) then add the rest of the batter on top and bake. Very yummy!
