I'm so impressed by the DVD that I'm now thinking of ordering another one for a Christmas present for my daughter-in-law. We took the Wilton I and II courses together this past summer and now want to be able to do more with our cakes.

I'm thinking the DVD, hot plate, and the bench scraper from BB& B would make a nice gift icon_smile.gif

I received my dvd in the mail on Saturday and it was busted into several pieces. The post office had placed it a clear plastic bag with a sticker saying how sorry they were for the damage and for any inconvenience that it may have caused. No mention of a reimbursement.

I am so bummed over it because it had no insurance and I really don't have the $$$ to pay for another right now. Oh well...that's how it goes for me.

I subtly mentioned to my DH that I would like to get it, I just don't have the extra money in my budget for it right now. icon_wink.gif

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered myself a DVD. Received it last week and watched it immediately. It's great, esp for someone like me who has a hard time getting edges perfect. I am a visual person and Sharon does a great job explaining everything.

I knew everyone would love this dvd....reasons I think are:
1. The way Sharon teaches in it....making a dvd done the way she did, are for sure the kind we want.
2. The wonderful and great tips she shows.
3. Overall a very amazing learning dvd
4. A very very good icing recipe, that I have enjoy for months now

As far as you making other dvd's....Sharon in the words of the movie "Field Of Dreams" I say..."If you make we will buy" icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

Wandootie, I am so so sorry about what happen to your dvd...I am sending cake angels your way. You know that does make me up set, that they never even tried to help fix what they did...but you can bet if we did something we would have to fix and fix it soon.

Oh LovesPekes, that would be a wonderful gift....could put together a gift box with, the hot plate, dvd, coffee creamer, WB flavoring, oh, maybe even some new stainless steel measuring cups, the dough scraper/bench scraper...and on another thread about Sharon's dvd, they were talking about a thing to do with sewing a hem, that could be used to help with marking the top of your cake....it is called a sewing gauge, here is a link to that thread and a link to what the sewing gauge looks like. I thought that was a great idea using the gauge...real great for those who don't have a printer or if you have ran out of paper or ink (which is always my case).

Thanks Sharon and Sharon icon_biggrin.gif

I have to tell you my original plan was to ice the cakes Thursday and then do the fondant accents on Friday. I made batch of icing on Thursday that turned out to have air bubbles but I went ahead and iced the smaller top cake. It was chocolate and by the time I finished with it it wasn't smooth and I could see tinys speckes of chocolate cake in a few places. Needless to say I wasn't satisfied. So when I tried your icing again on Friday....with your advice to make an entire recipe....and it was so smooth, I scraped off the icing of the small cake, re-iced it ...and had no chocolate specks....and then iced the larger cake. Not only did the icing look 100% better but it was so much easier to work with! Not having to deal with all the air bubbles actually made it a fun experience and I have to say I was so proud of both cakes.

I took the Wilton 1 and 2 course at the beginning of the summer and neither of my teachers were too interested in getting the cakes really smooth. They both had the opinion that you could just cover up your mistakes with decorations so needless to say I never really had any training on how to do this.

I see now that I wasted a lot of time and money in going to these classes and all I needed was your DVD. Seriously, you taught me more watching it one time than all I learned in my 8 classes.

Can't wait for you to produce more helpful DVDs!!! They are truly awesome thumbs_up.gif

And I just have to share one more pic of my daughter with her cake. She loved it and so did the ladies at the shop icon_lol.gif

O.K. Everyone, Sharon will be making more dvd's.... and from another post she said "she is accepting suggestions as to what we want to see next. I 'll call it a wish list for future Sugarshack DVD's thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif . Here is the link if you what to check it out and post you a wish list also.

God Bless,
Sharon
