hey all,

i just know that someone out there amongst all of your expertise can help me! i have my first order for a new years cake. she wants a butter pecan cake w/out the pecans in the batter (only in the filling). i've tried the doctored butter golden DH recipe, and a pound cake recipe w/ the addition of butter and nut extract. my problem is that nothing comes out tasting like butter pecan! i used a bunch of (2 tbsps) of extract and it still just tasted like reg. pound cake. for the DH recipe i even substituted the liquid w/ southern butter pecan coffee-mate. i'm about to cry icon_cry.gif can anyone help? i soooo appreciate any thoughts. thanks in advance yall dunce.gif

There is a company called Spice Barn who make many flavored extracts. One of which is Butter Pecan, I have used it, it is quite strong and you only need a bit.
