My mom made popcorn and then coated it in homemade carmel and then drizzled it well with chocolate. When I left the chocolate wasn't set yet and was refusing to set at all so she put it in the basement (a nice one, not a creepy one ) because it was about 25 degrees cooler down there. She said she covered it later on. Well the popcorn has this kind of gummy texture to it now and she just made it yesterday. What could have made it turn out this way?
Why it got soggy:

Thanks JanH!!!!! That helped. It was really unusually warm and humid the night we made it so I'm sure that didn't help any. Thanks again.---Melissa
Make popcorn on stove, not microwave popping bags...Then I make paper bag microwave caramel corn recipe, after it has cooled, ( you can throw in some nuts if you want) drizzle with melted chocolate, after hardening....bag it up in twist tie baggies add a curled ribbon for gift giving.
