Hi Everyone yesterday I prepared a Duncan Hines 3 leches box cake and it was a disaster icon_biggrin.gif . I used a 13x9 pan, but I did not see that it was not listed on the box. Needless to say the cake never rose and looked like a pancake. icon_mad.gif

Well, I made a 9" square tres leche from scratch and it also, wasn't a very tall icon_sad.gif

Going to try this recipe next:

If it is a Tres Leches from scratch, that batter does not rise much, it is a very sponge-like cake, so it can absorb all the leches. HTH

I don't think 3 Leches is supposed to be a tall cake, from my experiences.

Is a hispanic cake recipe, is sponge-like and then you pour a mix of 3 different kind of milks, evaporated, whole milk and condensed. VERY good, CC has the recipe! HTH

It's also, sort of like the Jello Poke Cake.

Only the liquid poured over the cake isn't Jello, it's a combination of three different milk products.
