The only thing I can think of is that spray snow you can buy in the stores for windows at christmas time but it surely isn't non toxic food safe. What about finely grated white chocolate!
that's a tough one-- what about shaved white chocolate maybe mixed with a little P.S. to keep it from sticking together.--or white cotton candy. Hopefully someone else will have more ideas but HTH
The only thing I can think of is white chocolate curls. Can't wait to see the pic! Good luck.
Wilton has cake sparkles that look like ice when you put them on cakes.
Also, RI is used on gingerbread to make it look like snow.
How do you want it to look? Like a powdery snow?
Maybe mix the cake sparkles with conf sugar to get the effect.
Clear sugar confetti. It's edible and is translucent. I've used it on snowflakes before and it's really pretty.

Is that like edible glitter?

Being "new" to cake decorating, what is RI?
TIA..
It's just going to be on the cake board around the cake, so it looks like the snowboard is sitting in snow. So I want it to be kind of fluffy. I was planning on putting some of the clear sparkle on top of whatever I used to give it a fun kind of look. Thanks for all the ideas! I'll post the picture after delivery - tonight!!

RI is Royal Icing.
Marshmallow Fluff beaten with a little corn syrup looks like fluffy snow! I used that before and it looks really cute when you pipe it on.
Good Luck!
I should have said make sure you use a Kitchen Aid or a powerful handmixer to whip it up!

Yep. It sure is.
I have also seen someone make a block of fondant, let it dry a little then grate it and it looks like coconut.
is the marshmallow fluff the same as marshmallow creme? how much corn syrup should i use for a 7 oz jar of marshmallow creme provided the fluff & the creme is the same thing? thanks.

I'm not sure. The package I have purchased has only said marshmallow fluff.
Amount of corn syrup will depend on your desired consistency. I used just under a teaspoon. Beat it, Beat it, Beat it. The mixer adds a lot of air. The corn syrup is really to loosen it up a bit. The jar I had was 8oz.
Hope this helps!
what about the same stuff the make the "ice" out of in the buckets of beer cakes...just make it smaller ? That way it glistens under the cake AND edible MMMMM
HTH's
I believe the marshmallow fluff is the same thing as the marshmallow creme just packaged differently by different company. I googled it and found the stores that carried the fluff. I will get some & try it out. I guess I can use this to make clouds for the baby shower cake. Thanks for the tips.
NO! NO! NO! Cotton Candy will not work. I tried it for "water" on one of my cake boards. It looked good but in the morning it was just blue sugar stuck to the cake board....no cotton candy left.
How about the mini mini mini marshmallows like you see in the hot cocoa that has marshmallows in the package? If you cannot find them, maybe buy a package of mini marshmallows and 1/2 those...although that seems like an awful lot of work. White Chocolate curls? Powdered Sugar? Popcorn? Just thinking as I go...
I say do BC.... check out the clouds on my carebear cake http://img.cakecentral.com/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/181563/normal_cc_cara_cake_montage.jpg They kinda look like clouds!
