Has anyone made the Golden Butter cake from Whim. BH? I made it once for a client, who loved it, and once for my dad's bday cake. It seemd a bit dry and crumbly to me, but it was very tasty. I was wondering if there's anything I can add to it to make it more moist? Or if anyone has another butter cake recipe that might be better? Thanks!
Try using a sugar simple syrup. Bring to boil 1 c. water + 1 c. sugar. When the sugar dissolves, remove from heat and add 1/2 - 1 tsp. flavor extract. I use almond a lot. Brush or spoon onto cake layers that have been pooked with a fork so that it absorbs the syrup.
Also try baking the cake at 325.
