OK - earlier I had posted for help with ideas for a "bubbles" cake (not the character) and many of you were so gracious with your advice and ideas - THANK YOU!!! icon_lol.gif And my friend and I had decided on one that I came across on the internet....I think it's pretty cute and would be fairly easy to do (just bake the cakes in round metal bowls of different sizes and cover in fondant).....here's the pic....

Lo and behold - she just called and said that she's CHANGED HER MIND!!! Ok - she's my friend, but she herself admits that she's not very creative.....it took me a week and the help of all of you who responded to my earlier post(s) to just come up with & settle on an idea. I could strangle her!!! lol icon_eek.gif

Her new theme: Bluegrass music & dancing!!!!!!!!!!! EVEN HARDER TO FIND AN IDEA FOR!!!!! This is for a 1yr old little girl! Strange theme, I think....but she loves it when her great-grandfather plays that style of music and she starts dancing every time! Cute, I know......but how the HECK do you combine those two things into the decoration of a cake?????? (glad I'm not required to organize/plan the whole party & decor!!!)

My friend said: "I know you want to kill me right now....but I KNOW you can do this! You're so talented....I have faith!!" I thought to myself: "Thank you - I love you too - but lets remember to re-visit these warm fuzzy feelings you have for my cake deco. skills AFTER I've delivered some freaky cake to you with a teddy bear in a pink tu-tu playing a banjo & dancing on top of a swamp with bluegrass and cat-tails all around it while a bullfrog looks on from the side!!!! rofl icon_lol.gificon_cry.gif (That's just what comes to mind when I put these two ideas together)

Needless to say - I seriously need some help here!! lol I've searched the picture galleries for music and dancing but came up empty for anything remotely close to what I think she wants.....

Any & ALL ideas will definitely be considered!! lol

THANKS! Jennifer

frankly...I would just come up with a simply decorated cake. A basic round cake with the party colors on it.

Maybe have a frog on it or a banjo on it???? You might want to give it a pond or byou kind of background

Just a thought

You can take something like mrsfish94 said and add musical notes around the sides...

what about making a cake look like a banjo, and put a little girl dancing on it. Thats all I could think off. I know i have seen some nice pictures of guitar cakes ppl have made I am sure a banjo one could be done just as easy. Not sure if that helps or not

That's IT!!!! Thank you soooo much dragonfly!! Absolutely perfect! icon_biggrin.gif And simple too....i bet the banjo would actually be easier than a guitar, too...just a round cake and then some long strips for the handle thingy part...could use fondant for the tuners on the end....and I could pipe bluish grass around the bottom for the border!!!! PERRRRRFECT! Not that great with fondant yet, so think I'll just get a dancing girl figurine to place on top.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I know you've already made up your mind, and it is a very cute idea, but just in case something comes up, you could do a whimsical style cake and then add what the others said to it (Frogs and music notes)

OMG!!

Another GREAT idea! Now I'm torn! I think I'll draw up 2 different options for her and see which one she picks. But I've never done a whimsical/madhatter style cake before...hmmmm...there's always a first for everything!! lol

Thanks a lot!
