Forgot to mention I bake from home and had about 80 paying orders last year and hoping it will double in 2007. Thanks!

As long as you have a legal business in your home, you should have insurance. Some home owners policies will allow it. Otherwise, there a a few companies that will insure food-related business.

I have state farm for my home and cars, so I went in and added my home bakery. It only added about $14 a month for $2 million dollars in coverage. Seemed reasonable to me. Also think about auto insurance...I just went to SCORE for advice, and they told me that if I am delivering cakes, that I should have business auto insurance in case I have an accident on the way to deliver a cake. Just something else to look into.
