This may be a dumb question but I'll ask anyways... How do you stick RBC/Fondant to cookies?
If the cookies are still warm, it will melt onto the cookie.
Other wise, just brush a little water on the back of the fondant and it will stick to the cookie.
Both of JoAnnB's ideas work great (I've used them both) but another technique is to make a paste (sort of an Elmer's glue consistency) out of powdered sugar and water. When I have the extra time I like to do that. It helps me to feel like I'm "glueing" the icing on hahaha HTH!
Hi, I just have a quick question about fondant on cookies... Does that taste good??? I have tried RBC and while the taste was fine, I coudn't get over thecosistency long enough to enjoy the cookies. I haven never tried MMF, I always use Toba's glace (which is delicious!!)
Just curious...
I use corn syrup to apply fondant to a cooled cookie. you just paint the corn syrup on the cookie. Works great. I like the tast of fondant. However, I do use Satin Ice because it tastes good with no after taste. I will have to say that I do not care for the taste of Wilton fondant.
I use Satin Ice fondant. It dries hard, but not as hard as royal icing, so there is no weird consistency as with RBC. It is delicious!! It's already flavored with vanilla. It is matte and not shiny like RBC (which looks and feels greasy to me). I thin down some of my RI and paint it on with a brush and then lay the fondant piece down. I don't have enough time of counter space to have the fondant ready when they come out of the oven. My mom usually bakes for me while I'm working my full-time job and then I decorate in the evenings. Whatever works for you.
I also use light corn syrup to attach RBC to cookies...I let the cookies cool first and brush on a light coat, works every time!
