For scrap cake my mother in law layers it with pudding (Chocolate or vanilla).
Could you use this for cake balls instead of icing? I've never made cake balls but the cake is good mixed with pudding! I'm wanting to try something new.. All Ideas appreciated...

I am not sure if pudding would work because it may cause the balls to be too moist and not come together to form balls. I guess you never know until you try but it seems to be pudding is just too runny?

Mmmmm... cake scraps make excellent trifle!! You could use pudding to make the cake balls, but you would only use a spoonful! You'd want to add just a spoon at a time until you get the right consistency. You can use almost anything for the liquid, you just have to be SO careful not to get it too moist and messy! icon_wink.gif HTH!!

Maybe you could make the puddding using half of the milk the recipe calls for. Just add a little a at a time to the cake crumbs until you get the consistancy that you like. I've found that for every cup of cake crumbs I use between 1/2oz to 1oz of binder. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about using the dry pudding mix in the cake balls for flavor, or do you mean that you are going to mix the pudding with milk and put it in the cake scraps?

I was thinking you might mix the pudding with the milk. Then, you could just use that as your binder.
