I got the name of a HUGE wedding/event coordinator in town. So I called her up just to say who I am extra. Well, she wanted to order from me right away! icon_sad.gif She wanted desserts for 200 by this weekend.

Shoot....that sucks. I had to turn her down. My kitchen won't be done until early next week. And there is no way I can bake for 200 in 4 days in someone elses commercial kitchen icon_sad.gif

Oh well, hopefully she doesn't see it as a bad thing.

What a pain, but you made a very good decision. It isn't a good idea to take on more than you can handle.

That sucks but, hopefully she respects you for that smart decision and thinks of you again...when you can do it!

Be sure to send her something (business card or brochure, maybe a sample tin) once you're up and running so she remembers you.

I can't imagine that she would think ill because of that - that's VERY short notice.

I agree - send her something, I'd do a mini decorated cake - just to apologise for having to miss out this time but to remind her that you're up and running for future orders; sounds like a handy contact to have; well done!

A wedding coordinator that asks for something in that short of notice? Surely more then anyone they should know better? I supppose she would do a wedding in a weeks notice... probably not, unless shes desperate for business. Anyway, sending something for the future is always good business, and maybe she will order again, but give you more time. Good Luck.
