I am doing a FBCT and I am out of wax paper. Can I use something else like parchment paper instead? I really don't have time to go out to the store so I hope I can come up with something else to use. Thanks!

Yes, use parchement as it works also. It's just a little tougher to see the design through sometimes depending on how you do it.

Oh, good, someone already answered with parchment. The only problem I have is that sometimes tape won't stick as well as I'd like (but cake doesn't stick either, so icon_biggrin.gif), but it doesn't wrinkle on me like waxed paper does so I haven't used waxed paper in ages.

You might try saran wrap if you can get if perfectly smooth. You could try taping it taunt on all 4 sides.

I always do mine with parchment. I think it is better than wax paper personally. Never had one stick to parchment.

I made my very first FBCT last week, and i didnt have wax paper either, and i was scared that it may stick to my parchment paper, so i used a piece of acetate. It works great, it' doesn't wrinkle and because it's so thick and sturdy it is really easy to lift and place on the cake ; )

This is one of my "crusades." icon_smile.gif I think waxed paper is the worst possible thing to do FBCT on. They often stick really bad. I like to use plastic wrap, taped smooth over the design. The transfer comes off cleanly and easily.
