I've finally finished posting the pics I took at the ICES Convention in New Orleans. Jakie created it's own area under the EVENTS catagory. Have fun looking at them.

Thanks for posting the pics!!! I know you saw the cake of Louisiana didn't you? My teacher & her daughter made that cake!!! Wasn't it huge??? My friends who did go showed me the pics of it. WOW!! I just wish I could have helped w/ that cake AND go to the convention!!! Next year I'll be there in TX for sure!!!

BigEasyCakes I could just kiss you . I was at the convention and I took a lot of pictures of the cakes in the demo rooms but my roommate dropped my digital camera and it broke before I had a chance to go to the cake room. I was so upset I did not speak to her for an hour. (or two) I did not want to buy the CD. Please I felt I had already spent enough money. (Dont even ask) (All I have to say is THANK GOD for rainy day money and that the mortgage was already paid )

But I had a BLLLLLLLLLLLAST. The demos were fabulous. I learned so many new things. I was well worth the money. I can not wait for Texas. I am packing already

I have a question for anyone who knows the answer. Do you have to be a member of ICES to go to the ICES conventions?? I'm not sure. Thanks!!

You don't have to be a member, but the Registration Fee is a bit higher for non-members.

BigEasyCakes-your cakes were amazing. I took pictures of several of your cakes in the gallery. I was so bummed though. I found out on Sunday that I could have gotten a 1 day pass to the convention. I live in New Orleans but couldn't go all three days (don't think daddy could have taken 3 straight days of the teething 9 month old-lol) I would have gladly paid for 1 day to see all the vendors and demo. But they didn't have any info on the website about the passes Oh well there is always Texas! And I think you can join online. They are a .org and not .com!

Dodi....thanx for the kind words. The Times-Pic did 3 stories on ICES in the 2 weeks before the convention. I wasn't expecting to see anyone.....but to my GREAT amazment, Collett Peters just walked on into the gallery room when I was in there. OH MAH GOWD..........She smiled for a pic....we talked....i shook her hand. I can die a peaceful death now. hehehe

BigEasy-did you happen to get a copy of the ICES Recipes We Love book from the convention? I went back up to get it and the booth had closed shop. Just wondering if it is worth ordering off the website? It was so inexpensive!! We used to get the paper everyday but I forgot to renew!!
