On the past couple of cakes I've done I have decorated the sides with bright colors such as hot pink and red. After the cake has sat for a few hours, the dye from the flower or letters has "leaked" and left a nice streak down the cake. I have a wedding cake next week and they want hot pink and lime green on the sides. They are going to Florida with this cake and it will set for a couple of days before they eat it. What can I do to ensure these colors will stay put? I have read something about meringue powder but tried this last night with colored icing in a bowl and after it sat a while it had white dots in it until I stirred it again. Maybe I put too much...I don't know I just need some help..someone...please! icon_sad.gif
