I have been reading about making icing ahead of time(a day or two) and then everyone says to re-mix it before you are ready to use it. Does that mean hand mix/stir it, or does that mean to use an electric mixer for a minute or two?

Thanks for all your help.

It does depend on the recipe.

But for the most part you let it come back to room temp, and then I mix it just for about 30 seconds.

Yes it does depend on the recipe. If there is no butter in it, you could get away with mixing it by hand even or a hand mixer. If it has butter in it I would probably go ahead and put it back in your KA or what ever you have and mix it for a few mins.

Thanks, that helps. I assumed that it would be with an electric mixer, but I thought I better ask. BTW, I use the 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco recipe.

Thanks again.
