ok...let me clarify my question posed earlier....

My friend wants a bubbles theme for her daughter's 1st bday....NOT the character from Powerpuff Girls...real bubbles...Like ones you make with the bubble solution and blow through the wand, or bubble bath...something like that. I desperately need some ideas or pictures to work from because I have no idea where to start! She doesn't want the cake to have anything on it, like no duckies or anything.....just bubbles....AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! icon_surprised.gif Maybe I could just bake cakes in a bunch of different sized bowls? and then cover in fondant?
Please, please help me!!! lol

I saw a cake that had a baby blue background and then different sized dots of white icing piped all over the cake and piled up to look like they were spilling down the sides. It looked like they were dusted with silver or something to make them look like real bubbles. Since it's for a girl you could do a pink background like it was bubbles from strawberry bubble bath or something... That's all I can think of.

If you want it all edible then you could use the ideas that you or JJ gave. but if it is ok to use other things then maybe you could get some plastic bubble from a craft store and use them to decorate the cake. I know they have different shapes and the round ones look like bubble they can be seprated in half and made to look like they landed on the cake. I use these as props for my photography business.

I haven't tried this yet but I got this recipe from someone awhile ago to do Blown Sugar Bubbles. Some day i'll try it.

Blown sugar bubbles

3 lbs. granulated cane sugar
1 lb. water

Bring to a boil and add 8 drops tartaric acid. Boil until
it reaches 314F. Pour onto a marble slab or a large silpat sheet.
When cool enough to handle, pull off balls marble to golf ball size,
depending on the size of the bubble you want. Attach to the end of a
wooden straw and blow. Twist the bubble and melt the end shut with a
spirit burner and cut away with scissors.

I just replyed to the other post on this subject. The MBN has set by step directions that make bubbles. They look like the picture posted above.
