Girl's 1St Bday - Bubbles Theme....help!
Decorating By JennT Updated 4 Aug 2005 , 1:44pm by alengirl
Does anyone know how to do a bubbles cake?????? Never seen one before in my life! Best friends little girl...who's only 3 wks older than my baby girl...will be 1 yr.old and mom wants a bubbles theme as well as cake. I know I could make little "bubbles" using reg.fondant or MMF, and then paint them with luster dust and/or glitter to give the irridesence, but not sure how to do the actual cake. Any ideas, suggestions, advice is appreciated. And if anyone has any pics of a cake like this that would be even better!!!
Thanks in advance....
Jennifer
Are you taking about bubbles as in bubble bath for example or Bubbles from The Powewrpuff Girls? My daughter is big into the Powerpuff Girls and that's the first thing I thought about when you mentioned a bubbles cake.

It's not the powerpuff character....bubbles as in bubble bath, bubbles you blow with the wand, etc. Just the idea of shimmery, irridescent bubbles is what she wants.

I just saw an article in the MBN showing how to make bubbles that actually look like bubbles. I'm not near my magazine or I would tell more. it looked really interesting and they actually used it on a cake to look like bubbles you blow on a wand. You can make them from fondant and those look cute too. I'm sure Wilton has them in there yearbook or even website. Bubbles seem pretty popular for baby cakes.
Good luck

Yes it's in the July/August issue. Some else also posted in another topic a link and picture of some other bubbles and they looked very pretty to.
I never get tired of looking at cakes or new ideas.

Sugar, that link isn't working for me Don't know why, I'm signed in and it keeps telling me that only "Memebers" can see it. . .AHHHH! I'm a member, I'm a member!
I'm so sorry.
If you go to the "Gallery", then click on "Wedding Cakes", and then on "Contemporary Wedding cakes".
It's the one in the very last row called
"Celebration Bubbles Wedding Cake"

Thank you SUGAR, I found it, I found it
I'm a happy camper now!
Does anyone have the MBN mag handy enough to scan the article for the rest of us that don't receive it? Pretty Please with Butter cream icing on top! Does MBN have a website. . . I've heard of it before, but don't remember if they have a website. I know I haven't see it at Barnes Nobles. . . in fact the only cake magazines I fine there are Australian (THEY ARE REALLY GOOD) but I never find any US cake mags there
