My sister's baby shower is this weekend and my mom would like to purchase a cake from a home-baker like me... I live in Houston or I would do it!!

Please email me if you can help. The shower is this Sat. for around 30 people. It is a "winter" themed baby shower for a boy baby.
Thanks!!

You could have her contact Trish. She makes beautiful and yummy cakes. I'm not sure if she is free this weekend or not.

She can be contacted via her web site at www.cakemaven.com

She is in Oceanside though. Not sure how far North you were thinking of.

The shower is in Carlsbad so Oceanside is great!

Oh yes it would. It's only about 15 mins away. She really should call her. I'm sure if Trish can do it then you won't be sorry as everyone loves her cakes. Plus her prices are good. icon_wink.gif

She'll log on here soon!

Sorry, I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I may still be able to hook you up.... I'm a member of the San Diego Cake Club... we are mostly home bakers and many of us are on the professional level. Linda is a passed president and current owner of a cake supply store here in SD, she knows everybody in the club and may be able to find a decorator for you... here's her info, I'll also give her a heads up call to expect your call, this way she may already have someone lined up for you by the time you get a hold of her. We have members in Carlsbad, Vista, Oceanside, and San Marcos who might be able to do it. It is a bit last minute so it may not be anything too elaborate. Linda's opens at 10 am our time.

Tell us how it works out!

mommykicksbutt- When will the registration for the SDCC be in effect? I presume in January, but what time @ DIWI?

nglez09,

DIWI will be the place to register however, we are working out the kinks in the reg forms now (always a work in progress). They should be ready at least by mid-January.

March 23-25, 2007 San Diego Cake Club Confections on Parade Cake Show at La Jolla Village Square Mall.

the website is down, hopefully the site will be up again soon and it will have the registrations forms on there as well.

Each year the show/contest keeps getting bigger and bigger! There is discussion about finding a larger venue but cost is an issue.

That's cool, I'm looking forward to the event. What happens to the cakes after the event?

The owners of the displays are to take them with them after the event is over on Sunday (late afternoon). Any confection still there during the table break down will be tossed in the trash can during the clean up.
