What is the easiest way to make a 3-D Jack-O-Lantern Cake? All I have is the pumpkin shaped cake pan.

I took a class with Bronwen Weber where we created a 3D pumpkin from her Spooky Cake and Candy Challenge. This is what we did. Take 3 round cakes, size depends on the size of the pumpkin you want, and stack them with a layer of icing between each as you would a stacked cake. Then using a serrated knife round the top and bottom edges and round the sides. Once you are happy with the general shape, trim ridges down the sides like you see on pumpkins. Ice the cakes with a light coat of BC and then cover with fondant icing. Use your fingers to smooth the icing into the ridges you created when carving. We actually shaped the face out of the fondant covering but you could paint the face, add fondant cutouts for the face or airbrush the face.

I hope this helps.

The easiest pumpkin shaped cake I've ever made I baked two cakes in 12 cup Bundt pans. Place the first cake rounded side down on covered cake board, add filling then place the second cake on top (flat side down). Then decorate. I used an upside down ice cream cone as the stem.
I hope this makes sense.
I actually purchased a mini bundt pan yesterday and I have those in the oven right now making smaller pumpkins for my son's class using the same method as above.

If you have questions you can pm me.

Hope this helps !!
