I am not sure why I am upset but my polar bear cake was eaten by my work friend's dog before her party icon_cry.gif
She told me today when I asked her how everything went at her party...
She was thrilled with it when I gave it to her but she left it unprotected I guess...anyhow, the dog ate it up, polar bears and everything...nothing left but a smeary choc/caramel mess...
The dog then proceeded to vomit all over the place because choc is very bad for them. icon_eek.gif
Dog is fine now but I can't believe my best cake ended up this way...I don't know about you guys but sometimes I get attached to certain cakes and this was one of them.... icon_sad.gif

Oh, Im so sorry that happened to your cake. It was so cute. At least you got a picture before it was devoured and the dog is ok.

I'm so sorry that happened. I can totally understand. I saw the pics in your photos it it was a great cake. So cute. It would have been bad enough if people had seen it then the dog got to it but no one got to appreciate all your hard work. Hopefully if she asks you to do another in the future she will have learned her lesson and keep it safe. icon_sad.gif

Oh, I am soo sorry. That would make me want to cry, especially if no one got to enjoy it first. At least you got great pictures of it first.

Like you lost your best friend. How sad she didn't even get to eat any before the dog showed up. (We have several dogs, and there are many places that are off limits, for obvious reasons.) Get out the picture and take another look. Maybe you could make another one and share it with her, or, maybe not. icon_lol.gif

Oh No!!!!!!!

That was an incredible work of art that just happened to be edible.

Shame on your work friend for not treating it like the treasure it was.

Feel sorry for the dog; he didn't even get to enjoy his stolen treat.

If you'd ask me, I'd say he's not the one that belongs "in the doghouse." tapedshut.gif

I am so sorry. I really was a great cake and I know what you mean about getting attached. I delivered the cow cake on Sunday and realized that I kinda missed the cows sitting on my counter.

How Disappointing!!!!!

If it's any comfort your polar bears were absolutely adorable.

I'm so sorry your friend didn't get a chance to even taste the cake.

I know how you feel. I get really attached to some of my cakes, too and they are not nearly as good as yours!

You should still feel proud of the job you did and just be happy it was her dog and not yours!! icon_lol.gif

So sorry Jane,

So many people have animals that are not trained, they are a menace to everyone, including Polar Bears.

oh noooooo........I know that feeling all to well. I had baked several cakes for a babyshower. Well I put the cakes out to cool on cooling racks. I put one on the kitchen table. I had to run an errand so I left and let my little 5 pound yorki have run of the house as always while I was gone. I have no idea how she figured out that if she moved the chair out just a bit she could jump on the chair to get to the table. When I got home there was a huge chunk of cake missing and her little belly was huge. I could almost bet that she got up ate cake came down for water then went back up for more cake....Im sure she did this several times just by how swollen her belly was. Poor baby was sick and well I was icon_mad.gif
Everything turned out ok in the end. Except for my poor little Hershey (yorki) had an upset belly....I can laugh about it now.
