Decorating By MariaLovesCakes Updated 7 Feb 2013 , 5:15pm by Edge Desserts
I have seen the one that was posted a while ago, where you cut 2 round layers and then put them together like a puzzle and ice, but I was also wanting to see other ideas as well, where the do is convered in fondant.
Anyone has anything please?
Thank you.
Oh, I agree Maria!! I've seen some awesome dog cakes here and would love to know how some of them are done!! I've only covered a dog head in fondant and that was tricky enough for me! Hopefully, someone will share!!
How could you not love that little face!! He would be so cute translated into cake...do you think he'd hold still long enough for us to make a mold?? (Just kidding!!)
this si the tutorial I received from anoter CC member- I believe her name is Holly but I dont know her screen name- but it helped me a great deal.
my cliford was done following these instructions and then my raccoon also- the only dif. is I palced a styro ledge under its head to raise it up.
Thank you so much, sweetviolent!!!! I made a copy and I will read it later.
My daughter wants a puppy birthday party and I want to sculpt a dog cake for her.
Thanks again.

LMAO!! The only time he sits still is if I lay down in bed to go to sleep. He sleeps right beside me. DH hates he but learned to accept that we're a package deal
sweetviolent, thanks for the instructions!!
Sweetviolet - I'm so happy that you posted these directions - I love all things puppy related - I can't wait to try this out...
I have done a few 3-D dog cakes and I did post a tutorial with step by step instructions and photographs. I hope you find it helpful. You can find it at http://www.edgedesserts.com/2013/01/construction-of-german-sheppard-cake.html
Hope it helps!
