Did anyone go to his open house and took pictures that you can e-mail a copy of them? I did not bring my camera since it was my 1st time attending, did not know what to expect. A lot of great information and ideas + recipes but will like to have some pictures to remember. Also, Nick was talking and using fondant, does anyone know the recipe of the fondant he uses. Thank you.

Forgive my ignorance -- where was his open house at?? I'm signed up for two of his classes next April at the ICES mini-convention in Michigan. icon_biggrin.gif

I sure wish I lived closer to Atlanta, because I would have loved to go.

The fondant he uses is generally ready to use made by Albert Uster. they are making a new fondant for him for wedding cakes. We were able to use some of it at Cake Camp this past summer.

His open house was held at his Norcross, GA store this past saturday and sunday. I guess is a yearly thing. Lots and lots of great ideas for x-mas goodies but if you go make sure to bring a camera and maybe some pen and paper to take notes.

I went but stupid me did not take a camera or a pen and paper. Did not know what to take since it was my first time. Stayed just about all day and spent a wad of money. Did you see the demo of the snowflakes I bought some of those cutters but I am having trouble getting them to work as good as his did. I was trying them on fondant last night and they didn't work. I am going to try them on gumpaste tonight. Hopefully they will work since I have a cake due Thursday with snowflakes on it.

Andisc, thank you so much for sharing your pictures.

For SueW, if you want more information about his future classes and next year demo in Norcross, GA or any of the other states that he teaches, go to his webpage www.nicholaslodge.com Also, there are some cake decorating magazines like Mailbox News and organizations like I.C.E.S. ( you subscribe to this) that gives you information about cake decorating demos, etc.
