I need a recipe for a pecan praline filling for a cake. I hate to have to make one up since pecans can be so expensive. Is there anyone out there with a recipe?

Welcome to Cake Central. You could probably use the pecan icing for German chocolate cake and leave out the coconut.

Here's a recipe for pecan.

I was not sure if you wanted the base of the filling to be praline flavored or if you wanted praline bits in the filling. If it's the latter, here is a praline recipe

Also, a suggestion for if you do need to experiment is to try different filling bases without adding the pecans.
