My town doesn't have a local bakery. I rent kitchen space from my local coffee shop if that is any help.

Sounds like you are getting ready to become licensed?

Just because someone rents time or space at a commercial kitchen doesn't mean they are lic. bakers.

You have to check with your local authorities to see what is required and asking doesn't mean they "TAG" you to keep an eye out..lol

Many people are afraid to contact their local dept of agriculture or dept of health because they feel they would be pointing a finger at themselves....not so...

asking questions is free and it's your right to know!

If you're taking steps on becoming legal!! Well, congratulations are in order! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I'm a great believer in free enterprise, but too many people are squeaking by with total disregard for state rules and regulations. thumbsdown.gif

I'm curious guys, those of you who do rent commercial kitchen space, do you just use that to do the cake orders you have? And, do you use it "around" them while they are working as well? I'm curious how that works? Or do you come in and use the kitchen when they are closed? How much do they charge you for that time?
And, exactly what are you being allowed to use in this kitchen? Ovens, mixers, pans, utensils etc?
Can you explain more on how this works?
Thanks so much,

Usually it's done after or before hours.
