I just checked my messages and there is one from an owner of a local bakery who is offering me a job! I'm excited and also a bit nervous. I was hoping that maybe some of you could offer me advice. I have no idea what to expect working in a bakery and how much it pays.

I have a full time job in finance right now. I also feel that I have a bit of freedom in the cakes I do now. Most people tell me whatever I think is best but if I'm working for somebody else how much creativity would I have? I mean I stress out enough hoping to please one person but now I would have to please the owner to. I just don't know what to do or expect. It would just be a really big step. I know nobody can make this decision for me but any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!!

I was just looking at your pictures and they are ALL great. I am guessing that the owner saw your cakes and offered you a job based on what they saw. The owner would probably love for you to bring your creativity to the bakery. I would talk with the owner and let him/her know your concerns. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I am sure you'll make the right decision.

Thank you! Does anyone know what specialty bakery's pay? I know if it's min. wage then it's not something I will be able to do.
