I was wondering...I found this pic on the net today...How did this person make this cake? Obviously the court is a sheet cake, but what about the spectators? How would you make the stadium seats? I think the people are represented by Nerds or some other hard candy.

Please help!!! Someone wants a UNC cake for a groom's cake and she wants something similar to this one.

Thanks in advance!!!

I think you're right about the spectators...I don't know the name of the candy but it's a small round type I'm sure you can easily find. The seats are probably a rectangular piece of cake that's torted on an angle.

I think I heard of people using fruity pebbles for spectators. Seems to me it might look similar to that cake. HTH!

I think I remember seeing this type of cake somewhere on here. I think they used a 9x13 for the field & the stands were made out of another 9x13 cut lengthwise in 4 pieces & then stacked 2 on each side. I did one similar to this last weekend, but it was a skateboard half-pipe and was a larger cake. It had height on the shorter ends instead of the longer sides (which should be easier to work with) It did fine until I added the fondant and the humidity kicked in...the ends fell off and I had to repair it.

I would say nerds for the spectators and the stands could be a 9 x 13 with the ends wedged icon_smile.gif

looks like fruity pebbles or similar cereal (maybe crushed fruit loops?) to me based on the colors. not sure about the stands.. possibly a long loaf pan or a couple of regular loaf cakes cut at an angle and placed together to get the length...

good luck!
