Hi,

You have to use only 3 milks, condensed milk, evaporated milk and
Creamy (crema de leche)

Do you know how to make the rest of the recipe ?

Hola Janet!
Gracias por escribe in ingles. Si, hago la cake y es muy bien y deliciosa, pero creo que hay muchos muchos leches. En ingles: The cake turned out great! I just think there is too much liquid in the pan. It almost looks like the cke is floating in the milks..

In English: If you use a 9 x 13 pan, you have to put one can of each milks, is enough.

I agree with Janeth, is one can of each for a 9x13 cake, in my opinion, the more milks the better, that is just the way my family and I like it. If you are planning on decorate the cake then you might need to reduce the amount of milks but if it is staying in a pan, than you should be good to go!
And BTW, you Spanish is awesome!! You only took classes in HS? Wooow!

Hi! I personally don't like the Tres Leches cake too wet, so, I have a recipe that calls for only 1/2 of the milks that it usually calls for.

So instead of a whole can of milk, you use 1/2. Half of everything, condensed, and regular milk.

I love it and its very wet, but not so soaked that its floating in it or drenched!

loves2bake:

Sure thing! Here is the recipe.

Pastel de Tres Leches

  1-½ cups All-purpose flour
  1 teaspoon Baking powder
  ½ cup Unsalted butter
  2 cups White sugar (divided)
  5 Eggs
  1-½ teaspoon Vanilla extract (divided)
  1 cup Milk
½ of a 14-ounce can Sweetened condensed milk
  ½ of a 12-ounce can Evaporated milk
1/3 cup Liqueur, Frangelico, Brandy or Chambord, for example (optional)
  1-½ cups Heavy (whipping) cream
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
Sift flour and baking powder together and set aside. Cream the butter and 1 cup of the sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs and 1/2 teaspoon of the vanilla. Beat well. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, 2 tablespoons at a time, mixing well until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
When cake has finished baking, pierce it in 8 or 10 places with a fork or skewer, and let it cool. Combine the whole milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk and liqueur and pour over the top of the cooled cake. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Whipped Cream Topping: When ready to serve, combine the whipping cream and the remaining 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 cup of sugar, whipping until thick. Spread over top of cake.
Because of the milk in the cake, it is very important that you keep the cake refrigerated until ready to serve. Serve chilled.

It's great your keeping your interest in speaking Spanidh. I think this forum will be of help to you. For English speakers the Spanish is easy.
I made the 3 milks cake as well using AsharEdith's recipe, and it seemed to me too much liquid. The cake turned floating in the mold.
Next time I'll use half of the milks as Marialovescakes said. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif
