Well, to say the least, this has not been a good week for me .. my car broke down and cost me $700 to repair.. my grandson fell, had to rushed to the hospital and required 6 stitches in his eyebrow, but he's ok now icon_smile.gif my dog got sick, covered in a total rash and I had a $125 vet bill... I tried my first FBCT and it was a disaster, but I feel it was my fault for not making it thick enough and not waiting long enough .. the picture that I did looked great! but it all stuck to the wax paper and was a complete mess.. I scraped it off and just used some piping gel, put the image on the cake w/that and used a star tip to fill it in .. I just hated the cake but the lady and her daughter who it was for, loved it .. and she's planning on ordering another one from me .. that's the good part of the week.. but the bad goes on lol .. today, I baked my Italian Cream cakes for a groom's cake I have on August 6th ... the 12" square cracked and fell apart .. I didn't realize why until after this happened and on my very last layer to be baked, I found out it was because I wasn't using enough pan coat in my pans ... as you can see in the pic, when I finally got it out of the pan, and flipped it back over, not only did the bottom stick, so did the top lol .. the last layer came out beautifully and I thank God for that! It's just an expensive lesson learned .. it took 2 cups of pecans per layer on the 12" pan and pecans are about $7 a pound here .. guess I'll be making some cake balls tomorrow lol .. hopefully Italian cream cake balls will taste good... I hope this cake makes it to the wedding and on the groom's table without anymore problems!! thanks for letting me vent icon_biggrin.gif

I hope everything gets better for you this coming week. Just take a step back and take a HUGE deep breath, say a little prayer. Move on to this next new week with hope and thoughts of happyness. MC

Your cake sounds so good, I can only imagine how good your cake balls will be! Sorry you had this problem, but at least you do have some time to re-do the cake! That is a good thing!

Sure hope your car, your grandson and your dog are all doing well by now, (not necessarily in that order...and that your pocketbook recovers real soon too!) Janice
