I am doing a cake this weekend for my daughters b-day and really want to impress some of the moms at her school who will be there...and maybe get some side business from it too icon_biggrin.gif

I have tried the recipe here to extend a regular box mix and love the way it changes a box mix cakes texture...makes it heavier and richer. Is there a recipe to do that to a choclate mix? I have not tried that recipe with anything but a yellow or white mix.

Also I am looking for a recipe for a cherry filling. I want to make a black forest type of cake and dont want to use just pie filling or something.

Thanks!

The extender I use for chocolate is the same as for a yellow cake, except you use chocolate pudding with a chocolate cake mix. Here is what I do:

Chocolate cake mix
4-serving instant pudding
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 1/3 cups water or milk
1 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tblsp cocoa powder

Hope this helps you. Cindy
