Another Web Site With Stolen Photos From Cake Central

I was amazed at how many cakes I recognized (does that mean I'm on here WAY too much? )
I'll add my 2 cents to the already voiced opinions .... as someone who had a cake photo lifted recently, if it's not your cake, please don't email her. Let the owners of those cakes contact her. An email bombardment just makes it harder when the cake-owners try to work with that person.

yes please do not contact this person unless it is one of your cakes that is on the website. In the past the situations have been contentious because of other people getting involved.
Actually I was looking at personal web page sites and searched on cakes. I was looking at lots of different cake sites but ran across this one and noticed the wedding cake with all the roses on top looked familiar.
By the way, I have a personal web page with my cake pictures on it. If you do a search and find me, I hereby declare I did not steal my cake pictures from myself
As far as watermarking is concerned. Yes, some people don't know how to watermark. AND watermarking does not stop theft. BUT as I mentioned before, I tried to go back and watermark my photos, particularly one of my most popular cakes and when I edited the photo, the title and keywords go away. I don't want to completely remove all my photos and redo them because people will lose their favorites. I was kind of waiting until CC upgrades and then I will fix all of them.
But so far, like redpanda, I don't think anyone wants to steal mine
Has anyone contacted the "victims"? I'd like to know if anyone does email her just so we know that she has been told. Like I said, some people just don't realize that what they are doing is wrong. That said, this person is obviously a CC member and should know just from browsing this site that photo theft is wrong.
One other note. You should read Ebay's policy regarding intellectual property rights. I occasionally sell some things on Ebay and one day saw MY PICTURE and description being used by someone else to sell their identical product. I read up on it, contacted Ebay (which is what they said to do) and the item was removed within a day. Ebay firmly believes in protecting people's photos and even item descriptions.
With some people, it is only lack of knowledge...when informed, they will do the right thing. Others may know they are stealing and not care but that doesn't make it right.
The very first cake on her home page in made by VACakelady, in Richmond, VA. Madison is in Richmond, KY. It's almost the same, right?

Ahhhh...BettyCrockermommy...AKA sleuth in disguise
You know I wondered about that. The cakes on her home page didn't look familiar to me and don't resemble the ones in her photo albums. I was thinking the front page ones were her own. Guess we just blew that out of the water. I just looked at VACakeLady's cakes and there are no more Madison matches. I don't think they are the same. Wow, you would think the ones on her front page at least would be her own.

LMAO!! I love that cake by VACakeLady! Here is one by Tcturtleshell, still with the watermark on it! http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=10632

I'd love to go back and watermark my photos (not that mine are good enough to steal!) but as KathysCC mentioned when you try to edit your photos, you lose tons of info that I don't have the time to replace and much to my surprise several of my pics are other people's favs (go figure!) so I don't want to completely delete and start over!! I hope Heath can fix this soon and then we can work on watermarking!
Another one by cccakes, http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=299173
I don't think someone could be THAT ignorant of the law. This lady is posting pictures on her website implying that they are her creations. Almost every single one of the pictures I saw in her gallery I've seen on here or a few in other places. One even looks like it's been scanned from a magazine page.
It's one thing for her to mention some cakes done by others for someone to get IDEAS from and credit them for their work, but she isn't doing that.
I can't possibly understand why someone would front a business like this based on lies. She is lying to people and I feel sorry for anyone who hires her and gets a terrible cake because they see someone else's beautiful work thinking that she is capable of recreating it.
Just my opinion.
Wow those are some beautiful cakes she stole!! Just curious... how do you know that she commented on the blue cala one?

on her website, just under the photo of homecooks cake, she made a notation about color popping or something like that (i dont remember word for word, i read it yesterday) . some have comments (a.k.a. descriptions) beneath them, some do not.
If someone would post instructions on how to watermark photos it would be GREATLY appreciated!! Someday I'll be famous, so I'd really like to start doing this now but I don't have Photoshop ...just a basic HP photo editor.
Thanks for any help

So what's the count, now? Are there ANY cakes on there that haven't been identified as belonging to someone else?
Debi,
I am still looking, lol. Bored at work today!
I have 31 pictures so far that have been identified as fellow CCer's pictures.
That is amazing! (you have a friend on Boss-Alert so you don't get caught goofing off, right?)

OK now should I call them or email them? That's just WRONG people!! Turtle is a little ticked right now! Thanks to leily & Bettycrockermommy for PMing me about this!
BTW.. that was the cake I did right after Katrina hit LA. I had 6 hurricane evacuees at my house, they are witnesses that I DID that cake!! LOL!!
So exactly how are you all watermarking your pictures? Can someone please tell me how to do it or send me a site that explains how to do it. Do you have to have a particular program in order to do it? Isn't there a way you can keep people from right clicking and saving your picture that way too?
I don't understand.... she seems like a good decorator! She also is helpful on the forums... what gives?
To watermark you pics
1. Go to PAINT on your computer
2. Go to FILE
3. Go to OPEN
4. Select the picture you want watermarked
5. Click on the A
6. Then click anywhere on the pic that you want your name
(A box will pop up. You can make the background white or invisible. I do invisible)
7. Chose the font & size you want your watermark
8. Type it
9. Click anywhere on your pic when you are finished with the font.
10. Go back to FILE
11. Click SAVE AS (name the file)
12. Click SAVE in the box
That's it & it's that easy!
Do ya'll know who this person is? Please fill me in. I missed something. I'm fixing to call her!
Has anyone contacted helipops? I remember adding this cake to my faves just yesterday:
