Help! I need a name and can't decide. I trust you CC'ers. I love gingerbread-my whole kitchen is gingerbread themed so I was thinking The Gingerbread Jar. Or Sweet Treats. Tina's Treats. Any other ideas? TIA

I like Ginger's Cookie Emporium. It doesn't automatically make me think "oh she only makes gingerbread." You could do a really cute logo - the name Ginger is kind of "sassy", for lack of a better word...

I picture Ginger looking like a cartoon version of Ginger Grant, red hair and all (from Gilligan's Island) Maybe I'm just dating myself!!! icon_smile.gif

I like them but her is my thoughts. If you are going to use a name with gingerbread in it, some people might think that is all that you so. Same concept with the cookies. You may want a broader name...

re your love for gingerbread, how bout sugar and spice.
this is how i see your sign/logo. the words sugar and spice; with the word spice sitting on a red and white checkered blanket and a little gingerbread person placed on a corner of the blanket with a big smile. just a thought.

Do you make cakes too?? (stupid I know)

GOOD LUCK!

Unless you are absolutely 100% sure you will never do anything but cookies, don't put "cookies" in your name. I'm having that problem right now. I haven't registered it with the state yet, so that's good, but now I'm trying to figure out how to change my name a bit, but make sure that it's the same somehow because I would like to expand to cakes. Never thought I would say that!

I think the shorter and catchier a name is the better. People just wont say a long name all the time and it is a lot harder to remember when they go to look it up.
I would go with, "Ginger Jar" if it were me.

Sweet Expressions? The Sweet Shoppe? Like others have said, you might want to leave room for expansion to other items once you've gotten going.

Good luck on your business! Just a suggestion: Whatever names you like, check out the world wide web and be sure there is not a name like that on the web or you will have to add a dash, extra word or something to distinguish you from the business with the same name which is already on the web. I think starting this thread was a brilliant idea! So many were willing to share ideas to help you come up with a perfect name!
