I bake from home and from time to time I send out flyers. I don't want customers to think they are ordering from a bakery. At what point do I mention that I do work out of my home?

I have business cards and flyers made up although I can't advertise here, but it states right on them that my company was started because I wanted to stay home with my daughter. My website states that it's a home based business. You could incorperate that into your ad that it's a home based business that way they know ahead of time.

How is the law in you county/state? Does it let you bake from home as a business?? It really depends on the law and if you are a licensed baker or not, as if you are not and your state requires a license then you can get in trouble and a fine. HTH

It is NOT LEGAL to have a home bakery in Michigan. I would suggest you do not do any advertising to lower your risk of getting caught and having to pay a substantial fine.
