How do you make red icing? - Page 2

When I need red - I color the icing with pink first and then add red when using the gel colorings. I come up with a deep red everytime. See the roses on my graduation cake (bottom of my picture page). Good luck. thumbs_up.gif

start off with chocolate bc. it dosent have to be dark chocolate but dark enough to be brown. then add a little of the wilton paste color at atime. you will have red soo. i do it this way all the time. it also gives it a chocolate taste as opposed to the plain bc. hope this helps. icon_biggrin.gif
