I am going to try "The Extreme Cherry Cake" recipe on here. Does anyone have any suggestions for an easy filling? I think I am going to just try it with regular BC icing for now. If I mix in Cherry jam with the icing will that work? I will probably fall back on cherry pie filling if I can't think of anything else. But would love suggestions.

Cherry jam mixed in the buttercream would work; but the cherry pie filling is a good idea as well. I have also made a cherry buttercream by mixing in marachino cherry juice (from the jar of marachino cherries) instead of the water, and then chop up marachino cherries and mix inthe buttercream as well. It is very yummy.

Thanks sweeterbug1977 . I think i will try that. Since we both really like cherries (and I just picked up extra Marchino cherries too!!) This is a fun cake for my BF and I so I thought I would try something new. He sees me make a lot of cakes that go other places, So I though I would make one for us this time and enjoy it.
