Sports?
Favorite Monster?
Favorite Vacation?
Animals?

Halloween? - I know we all like to have new ideas...but - would it be a CRIME to have a Halloween theme? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I know I am busy - and sometimes it is all I can do to make the things I need to for friends, church, etc...not to mention that !!!GASP!!! Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner...!!!!

Just random thoughts - haven't had my coffee yet....
still...trying...to...make...sense...

I like the animals idea. Or how about bugs? I've noticed that, as the weather gets cooler, I'm having to kill a lot more spiders in the house. I HATE creepy-crawly insects! I don't care that the spiders are actually good, because they eat other bugs (so my husband is always telling me). They can stay outside and eat all the other bugs they want!

How about taking our everyday cutters and using it for something else other than the object it was intended to be. Do you know what I mean or am I sounding too confusing? (I have been up since 3:00pm yesterday and it is now 2:30 pm the next day--long shift! I may not be making much of sense right now)

..it will get our creative juices flowing and give others ideas too...or have a "free-hand" cookie of the month ---no cutters allowed????

Just some ideas I am tossing around...

I wanted to do the September cookie club this month but did not have TIME to do any this go round but I will have time in October thumbs_up.gif

I vote Halloween. I have been trying for the last 6 months to do cookies and just can't seem to get there. October is a gimmee. Or, I like the idea of your favorite monster.

I was going to suggest bugs, but then, I thought it was just me seeing them everywhere...

...or it could be that my wonderful son is hooked on "A Bug's Life" and I really am seeing them everywhere.....we DO limit him to once a day - if he is allowed to watch anything....and that is his entire tv for the whole day...

just so you don't think I am too horrible a mother....

Cool ideas. This would really be a great way to see the creativity of the creative!

About shanzah67's idea--
"taking our everyday cutters and using it for something else other than the object it was intended to be." -- You could still make Halloween cookies, or whatever you choose, but choose one cutter that wouldn't typically be Halloween and "make it" Halloween. Use a gingerbread cutter for trick-or-treaters, use the bell cutter upside down for a witch's cauldron, the circle cutter for a moon with bats, ice cream cutter upside down for a witch or Harry Potter cookie. I think shanzah67's idea is so terrific. It would really be a lot of fun to turn your cutters in every direction to see what else you can come up with. thumbs_up.gif

How about " Illusions"? I like the idea of the everyday cookie cutter and making it into something else.

how about halloween as a gimmee, because there are lots of die hard halloween enthusiasts here... and something like... race for the cure or something that's also really popular in october? corn mazes?! and how about Mend The Fences month (which is actually nationally in September but we can pretend anyway) where you're supposed to forgive and ask forgiveness for all the wrongs you've done in the last year?

I'm rambling.

How about Candice has an infection where she got her wisdom tooth pulled from?! No? Fine then! icon_razz.gif

well, I think that Halloween does have the most support, but I don't want to choose a theme we've already used sicne there are so many others, so... how about we combine the "Halloween" and "Monsters" themes since they are so closely related? The October 2007 theme could be "Halloween Monsters"

Does that sound OK?

I'll check back later today and see what you think, and if that seems OK to everyone, I'll start the new thread tonight.
