Someone is using pictures from here that are not their own on their own website!!!!!!!
I was down in South Florida this weekend for the holiday and picked up a local family magazine. I thumbed thru it and of course went to where they had the places that did cakes listed. I came across this website just looking at what kind of work they can do. Well, right off the bat I notice a couple of cakes on their website that were done by another bakery in Orlando. THEY WERE THE EXACT SAME PICTURES!!!! I looked a little more and recognized alot of pictures from CAKECENTRAL on there. I first noticed sugarshacks cake, then I looked and most of them are off of this website, again the same pictures. I think I know who this person is but I am not going to release that info. I did my own investigating. It's not my business to spill those beans to everyone because none of my pics are on there. I just thought if yours is on there you can take it up with the person.

I do think you should report this member - I would be livid if my cakes were on their site, but I can't see anyone. They should be reported assuming they haven't asked permission.

Wait, I swear there's a picture on there of a cake from this year's Cake and Sugar Arts Show in Texas! I took a picture of it at the show and you can see other cakes behind it in the picture on the website, too. I don't know who it belongs to, though.

I sent a PM to Tuggy and if she confirms that she DID NOT give permission to that website owner, then I feel they need to be called on it! We work too hard to have someone use our EXACT photos.
Now, I will be the first to admit that I come here for inspiration. In fact, if you note my photo's, a lot of them have been inspired (and well noted) by book and/or members. Some, are of original design. But...I always give credit where credit is due. I don't see it on that website. Do you know what I mean? There is no note saying this cake was designed by so-and-so.
Plus, I noted several cakes that were copied DIRECTLY out of the Debbie Brown's books. Now I am not talking a photo of a cake that was RECREATED. No! The exact photo from the books. Wow!!!

OMG... your right.. that is your cake and if you say you did not give permission for them to use it, then someone needs to say something...

How cheeky someone has done this! taking credit for someone elses' sweat and tears as their own... Am so cranky... and yet, slightly disappointed that none of my cakes made it to the high calibre of selection that they have made !

), but we ALWAYS give her credit when she has been our inspiration!
What is to be done about this? Do we need to start putting our names on ALL our submitted photo's? If this person was just running with ideas that would be different (in my book), but...to actually utilize the EXACT SAME PHOTO...that's a whole different story! Don't you think??
As a matter of fact it is far more serious than not giving people credit for their cake design idea. To use someone else's photograph without their express permission is copyright infringement. The florida cakes person is at real risk of a lawsuit.

This has actually happened before on CC. One of my photos made it in to this other website although all my pictures have my name on it. After the furore, the member in question removed the pictures from her website and apologized and everyone was happier. I would suggest just emailing this person and asking her to remove the pictures. There's not much else that can be done.
I also saw a picture there from GRAMMASUE.

I also emailed this person, and DEMANDED that they remove my photos.
This sort of behaviour really disappoints me. I post my photos on CC to share with my fellow cake addicts, not to furnish someone's portfolio!

edited to add: I have some of these in my favorites folder. I admire the work on this site. Atleast you know you are at the top of your game now that someone is using your photos! (not saying it's a good ting) I'm sure with the pressure that can be applied here in this forum the person will take the photos down.
