Did a quick google on it and thought this one by Martha S. was pretty cute and fairly simple so easily done on short notice:

Dear Pinklady,

If the monkey has to be a sculpture to go on the cake, if you look in my pics, I have one there that is pretty easy to follow on how to make just by looking at the pictures. Let me know if you need any other assistance.

I made some monkeys for my mom and nephews cake, they are a little different than the ones in above post not sure if it's what you have in mind but I can tell you how I did them. . .

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1015103.html

1)tint fondant tan
2)roll a ball of the fondant into a pear shape, push a toothpick into the
bottom of the pear shape until it comes out the top of the pear shape a
little and stick the bottom end of toothpick into a piece of foam
3)I put a pinch of fondant and about tsp of water in small dish and micro
15 seconds and stir to make fondant glue.
4)roll 2 snake shapes, flatten one end of each for the feet, cut a slit to
make the toe and make indentations with toothpick for the individual
toes, not cutting all the way through. glue end of snake shape to pear
shape and bend leg as desired
5)repeat for the arms
6)roll a small ball for the head, use a dowel or skewer to make
indentation for forhead and eye area above nose and mouth and a ball
tool to make indentations for eye holes, use a little fondant glue and adhere to toothpick and top of pear shape
7)make two small balls for ears and flatten into a half circle.
8.)glue ears to head
9)brush monkey with brown petal dust leaving the nose, feet and hands
tan
10) with a toothpick, draw a thin line in semi circle for the mouth
11)paint eye dot with food marker
or thin paintbrush and black paste or gel food color
Hope that helps icon_smile.gif
